The Crown / ‘Pure Drop Inn’

The Crown Marnhull is generally thought to be the inspiration for the ‘Pure Drop Inn’ in Thomas Hardy’s Tess of the d’Urbervilles. Marnhull Heritage Initiative, with the support of Hall & Woodhouse and The Crown, has recently upgraded the 40 year-old information panel outside the pub.

We will be unveiling the new panel at 2.00pm on Saturday 15th August alongside representatives of The Thomas Hardy Society, Marnhull Parish Council and Hall & Woodhouse. All are welcome.
